Babies!

This blog stems from my infertility blog. Working with women who are infertile will always be one of my passions and I will never forget those who are still in that boat. I will continue to blog about it but thought I should start chronicling my pregnancy so that when my children are old enough, they can read about their beginning.

As my followers know, I became pregnant through IVF. We had two embryos implanted and to our surprise, both decided to make a home out of my uterus! This blog stems from my infertility blog. As my followers know, I became pregnant through IVF. We had two embryos implanted and to our surprise, both decided to make a home out of my uterus! We prayed for two, but never expected to be greedy and get what we wanted. We were excited, yet scared. With our history of lose we were very careful not to be too attached to the idea of being pregnant.

The first trimester was not fun. I was about 8 weeks along when I had to take a medical leave from work. I was so sick. Nauseated 24/7 with most days consisting of all day puking. I lost 15 lbs and spent about three weeks in bed. Every time I would get up, I would get sick. I would, of course do it all over again!
I am currently 14 weeks pregnant and doing well. I am huge! I have to be reminded on a daily basis that it is because I am pregnant with twins!

Of course, I have had the sore boobs, the horrid sense of smell, and some cravings. My first craving was anything with strawberry. After that I had to have spaghettio’s. From fruit to processed crap! Now it seems that if I see something that looks good on TV or something someone near me is eating, or I smell something good, I have to have it. NOW! No joke. If I do not get it, there will be a problem!
My belly started itching a few weeks ago. Thanks to my mama, I have burts mama bee wax that is helping. Oh, and can we say EXHAUSTION? Whoever said that it goes away in the 2nd trimester lied! It has not changed, and some days is even worse! I am still puking in the mornings about every other day or so. However, I will take that change from where I was before.

As far as movement goes, I thought I was feeling the twins move around a couple of weeks ago, but my Dr. told me no it was probably ligament pain or gas. This week I started to feel slightly sharp jabs. I contacted the doctor, because I am neurotic and she said that is movement. So awesome! Every morning before I go to work, hubby puts his ears up to my belly to hear what the babes are up to. He says he can here them in there…but I am skeptical!

So for now, we are good. Waiting for our 16-week appointment and glucose test and hopefully an ultrasound to see what these little bits are. In the mean time, I will be working on the nursery on my time off from work. I have a dresser and a glider to paint and my friend is sewing me cushion covers. Winnie the Pooh Of course!
